IAG JAPAN OCT 2020 16 シンガポール、10月から定員最大250人で MICEイベントをトライアルへ SINGAPORE TO TRIAL MICE EVENTS WITH UP TO 250 ATTENDEES FROM OCTOBER THE SINGAPORE TOURISM BOARD (STB) has announced it will start accepting applications from organizers to host MICE events for up to 250 attendees from 1 October 2020. The 250 limit, increased from just 50 people under previous COVID-19 restrictions, is being described as a pilot program with organizers required to demonstrate their ability to implement Safe Management Measures before gaining approval from the STB and Ministry of Trade and Industry (MTI). Data gathered from approved pilot events will be used to “adapt and adjust” protocols for larger safe business events in the future, the STB said. It added that moves to gradually reignite the MICE industry were being made due to the importance of the sector to Singapore’s business environment, with a MICE Economic Impact Assessment commissioned by STB in 2019 finding that the industry supported more than 34,000 jobs with an economic value-add of SG$3.8 billion – nearly 1% of Singapore’s GDP. The Assessment also found that business travelers spend almost double that of leisure travelers, making them high-yield visitors. “The MICE sector is a strategic one for the Singapore economy, and its safe and gradual resumption will safeguard jobs and core capabilities,” said CEO of the STB, Keith Tan. “It will also help those in related sectors such as hospitality and aviation. Public health and safety remain our utmost priority, and we have worked closely with the industry to create strict protocols and develop new ways of organizing events. These pilot events and solutions will help Singapore lead the way as a safe, trusted and innovative destination for MICE events.” シンガポール政府観光局（STB) は、2020年10月1日から定 員最大250人でMICEイベントを開催する主催者からの申請 受付を開始することを発表した。 これまで、新型コロナウイルスによって定員はわずか50 人に制限されていた。250人に増えた今回の定員は、試験的 プログラムであると説明されており、主催者は、STBおよび 通商産業省(MTI)から承認を得る前に安全管理措置(Safe Management Measures)の実施能力を示すことを求めら れている。 承認された試験イベントから収集されたデータは、将来、 より大規模なビジネスイベントを安全に行うため、その手順 を「変更・調整」するために使用されるとSTBは月曜の発表 の中で述べた。 また、STBはシンガポールのビジネス環境にとって同セク ターが重要であることから、MICE業界を再び徐々に稼働さ せるための措置が講じられており、STBは2019年に行なっ た「MICE Assessment(MICEの経済効果査定)」は同業界 が3万4千以上の雇用を支え、その経済的付加価値はシンガ ポールのGDPの1%近くに当たる38億シンガポールドル(約 2,956億円)にのぼることがわかった、と付け加えた。 同査定からは他に、出張客の消費額がレジャー客の2倍 近くあり、高収益の旅客であることが分かった。 STBのキース・タンCEOは、「MICEセクターはシンガポー ル経済にとって戦略的なものであり、その安全かつ段階的 な再開が雇用およびコア・ケイパビリティ(能力・特性)を守っ てくれるだろう。 また、ホスピタリティや航空業界など関連セクターで働く 人も助けてくれる。公衆衛生と安全が最優先であることは 変わっておらず、厳格な手順を作成し、イベント開催の新し い道を切り開くために業界と密接に協力してきている。これ ら試験イベントおよびソリューションは、シンガポールが安 全かつ信頼性の高い、そして革新的なMICEイベント開催地 として道を切り開く助けとなるだろう」と述べた。
