Inside Asian Gaming
IAG JAPAN APR 2020 8 Searching for a silver lining L ike just about everyone in our industry, 2020 is shaping up to be a very different year for me than the one I had originally planned with at least half a dozen overseas trips now cancelled and no clear indication of what the coming months will hold. And, like just about everyone in our industry, there are days when the enormity of the situation weighs me down like a ton of bricks. That’s the reality of day- to-day life during the current coronavirus pandemic, with lockdowns, social distancing and limited access to even the most basic necessities now becoming the norm. I’m a fairly positive, glass half full type of person but the constant stream of bad news while watching breakfast television over my morning coffee each day has at times been tough to take. I've subsequently tried to limit my exposure to breakfast TV as much as possible.– it’s much easier to warm to the day with a few music videos than story after story of tragedy. Of course, as Managing Editor of Inside Asian Gaming , a job that includes overseeing and writing much of our daily industry e-newsletter IAG Breakfast Briefing each day, escaping the daily news cycle is easier said than done. Can you believe we wrote almost 70 articles in March alone related to COVID-19? www.asgam.com EDITORIAL
